Tasty Indian Bistro has the potential to become one of Canada’s premier fine dining destinations, bringing Indian cuisine to the forefront of the national culinary scene. The concept aims to fuse North American and Indian cultures in a way that feels both innovative and authentic, offering a unique dining experience that reflects the richness of India’s culinary traditions while resonating with modern, sophisticated tastes.
To achieve this, I studied the brand identities of renowned restaurants like Nobu, Gymkhana, Hakkasan, Cactus Club, and The Keg—establishing a common thread of simplicity, timeless elegance, and a strong sense of identity. This analysis led to the decision that Tasty Indian Bistro’s brand should follow a similarly refined approach, combining sleek design with subtle nods to Indian heritage.
The visual identity needed to be clean and contemporary, with elements that evoke the warmth, spice, and vibrancy of India without overwhelming the senses. I focused on creating a design that feels upscale yet approachable, sophisticated yet welcoming. The brand’s typography, colour palette, and imagery are carefully selected to balance both North American and Indian cultural cues—drawing on traditional motifs and modern aesthetics in equal measure.
The result is a brand identity that is not only memorable but also reflective of Tasty Indian Bistro’s ambition to offer an elevated and unique experience in the world of fine Indian dining.
